Summer Makeup Tips for the Ultimate Glow
By: Tracy Peart
1. Be Vibrant this Summer
Go bold this season by choosing vibrant fuchsia, orange or purple lipstick shades. Remember to use a lip liner to add definition and keep your lipstick smudge proof.
2. Powder Your Nose, Lightly
Apply powder lightly with a big face brush right after you apply foundation; this sets your makeup before the liquid gets dry and cakey. Be careful not to apply too much powder under the eye area and avoid using a sponge or powder puff, as this gives you a heavier application and a made-up look.
3. Go Matte
Select matte lipsticks and eye shadows rather than frosts as shine tends to amplify fine lines or oily skin. Applying a bronzer to your face will add warmth, giving you a sun-kissed look.
4. Soften Up Your Look
Give yourself a soft, youthful look this season by keeping your brows full and shapely. Use an angle brush with eye shadow to fill in your brows and concealer to help hide new hairs while they grow in.
5. Eyes Wide Open
Focus your attention on the outer corner of the eye with your eyeliner. A little kick on the end will give the illusion of more open and lifted eyes. Choose eyeliners in shades of brown, grey, dark green or dark blue; but remember the darker the color, the smaller the eyes look.
